CSPA NI Secretary Tony McMullan has welcomed the Westminster Government’s decision to allocate £53 million to help people with the rising costs of Home Oil. Because of the higher preponderance of NI Homes using Oil as their main source of heat etc £17m of the £53m will go to Northern Ireland citizens. CSPA NI called on the Government to ensure that the money is allocated quickly as many Older People with various illnesses and disabilities had to keep their heating on much longer than other citizens and needed help urgently. Mr McMullan also called on the Government to increase their support in these current very challenging times. He noted that the Government had allocated £53 to the UK population of 69.5 million people. Of which £17m is to go to Northern Ireland’s 1.9 million people. He noted that the Irish Government had allocated £203m to their 5.4 million citizens.
