CSPA NI Support the WASPI Women

CSPA NI were extremely disappointed to hear the DWP Minister Pat McFadden’s decision, announced recently, to refuse to pay compensation to what is known as “The WASPI Women”. This is despite the positive recommendations of the Parliamentary Ombudsman that compensation should be paid.

CSPA have supported and campaigned for these women, for many years, who experienced hardship as a result of unnoticed changes to pension entitlement. CSPA NI Secretary said “These brave, determined and valiant women have been treated badly by both Conservative and Labour Governments and it’s particularly galling to have been turned down by the current Labour Government when many members of the Cabinet, including the Prime Minister Keir Starmer pledged support whilst in opposition. This is a very sad day but I’m sure the determination that the WASPI women have shown so far will continue.
