Northern Ireland Pensioners will have their Winter Fuel Payment restored on similar lines to Pensioners in England & Wales. This was confirmed yesterday in the Northern Ireland Assembly by the DfC Minister Gordon Lyons MLA.
He said he had had engagement with Executive Colleagues including the Minister for Finance , John O’Dowd MLA as well as discussions with appropriate Ministers in the Department for Work & Pensions in London. The Minister confirmed that the necessary legislation would be in the Assembly by July.
